The Top 3 Boston Celtics Wedding Party Gifts

Friday, August 19th, 2011

Summer is winding down. This means great weather, weddings and most importantly, the NBA season is approaching (hopefully). For Bostonians, it’s one of the best times of the year. If you happen to be getting married in the next few months, Celtics gear makes a great gift for a groomsman, usher or ring bearer.

Here are a few things to remember when purchasing wedding party gifts:

  • - Order early! Depending on what type of gift you’re ordering, it can take a few weeks for items to be shipped to you.
  • - The average amount spent on each attendant is $37.
  • - The rehearsal dinner is an ideal time to present your friends and family with thank-you gifts. It’s generally a low-key atmosphere where you can take the necessary time to express your gratitude to the wedding party for being a part of the big day.
  • - It’s always a nice gesture to include a hand-written thank-you note in addition to a gift.

Getting team spirit involved in the wedding festivities is a great way for the groom to get involved in planning. Here are a few suggestions for Celtics-themed groomsmen gifts from The Man Registry.

div pro 6 way golf tool

Introducing the DivPro 6 Way Golf Tool

The DivPro 6 Way tool includes all of the necessary golf accessories you’ll need on the course (and then some.) Let’s break it down:

1.) Divot repair (to clean up the green after you knock one within three feet.)

2.) Ball marker (so your idiot friend doesn’t knock your ball off the green with his approach shot.)

3.) Club head cleaner (if you’re playing like garbage, your clubs may as well look good… right?)

4.) Golf grip saver (don’t lay your clubs on the ground, use the DivPro to prop them up.)

5.) Cigar holder (never set your cigar down on the grass again.)

6.) Shotgun can opener (because getting bombed is the true reason you’re out on the links.)

The DivPro also comes with the complete rules for Shotgun Golf — a fun game to play with your buddies on the course. The tool runs an affordable $14.95, so pick one up for yourself or your wedding party members at The Man Registry.

What are the Best Groomsmen Gifts?

Saturday, July 9th, 2011

Being an all-star groom means doing it up the right way when it comes time to thanking your best man, groomsmen and ushers. Sure, you could get them them the standard watch or cuff link set… but what’s exciting about that? The best groomsman gift ideas involve doing a little research on each member of the wedding party and discovering the gifts that are perfectly suited for each guy. Remember, there’s no golden rule that says you’ve gotta get the same thing for everyone.

Here are some tips for nailing the gift selection process:

  • - Think about the hobbies and interests of each guy. If he’s an outdoorsman, get him something that he can use on his next fishing or hunting expedition. If he’s a golfer, there’s no shortage of  golfing gear and tools that he can add to his repertoire.
  • - Go personalized. Gifts are always meaningful. However, having initials or a name engraved onto a gift can offer that extra touch you’re looking for.
  • - When presenting gifts at the rehearsal dinner or wedding reception, remember to say a few personal words about each groomsman as he receives his gift. He’ll appreciate whatever you get him, but your words might be what says with him the longest.

Here are a few out of the box gift ideas that will help get your creative juices flowing:

Timberland PRO: Mastering the Honey-Do List Has Never Felt So Rugged

Monday, June 27th, 2011

Purchasing groomsman gifts can be a chore. On one hand, you want to get your boys something exciting and “cool.” On the other hand, you want the gift to be practical enough that it will actually get some use. For my money, it doesn’t get much more practical than work. Whether he’s a construction worker or a weekend “honey-do” warrior, owning comfortable and safe boots are an absolute must. Enter the brand new Helix line of work boots from Timberland PRO.

The Helix line isn’t made up of typical boots. Designed to be rugged, manly and comfortable, this line is ideal for not only the tough guy on the job… but also the DIY husband. A few standout features are:

  • - TiTAN Safety Toe for lightweight protection and roomy fit
  • - Waterproof Membrane to keep feet dry and deliver the best waterproof protection
  • - Slip-Resistant Outsole to maximize surface contact for enhanced traction
  • - Soft, durable leathers provide enhanced flexibility, and resistance to oil and heat
  • - Active Heel Lock helps secure the heel for optimal fit

To put these boots to the honey-do test, I decided to sport them while performing a few routine household activities.

As you can see, I ran these boots through quite the rigorous gamut of weekend chores. Other than the weird looks I got from my neighbors for booting up to take the garbage out, I thoroughly enjoyed the Helix experience. While obviously designed for jobs a little more intense than doing the dishes and grilling dinner, I was able to get a feeling of just how comfortable these boots would be for a real job (like building a new deck or working on truck).

Would your groomsmen appreciate receiving work boots as gifts? What are some of the household activities (light or heavy duty) that they would wear the boots for? Let us know in the comments section below.
