Wedding Planking Photos

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

Planking. It’s one of the strangest phenomena that I can remember and now it’s taking over the wedding world. I can’t say that I understand it. However, if it’s going to replace the groomsmen jumping photo… I could learn to live with it.

It’s Your Wedding, Too: Ride Off Like a Man

Monday, July 11th, 2011

Be honest: Most of you cringe at the idea of leaving your upcoming nuptials in a horse-drawn carriage with your new bride. While she may have been envisioning riding away from her wedding like royalty with her new Prince Charming beside her, you’re probably thinking that leaving your wedding ceremony in a carriage is only appropriate if you’re an heir to the throne or you belong in a Disney movie. How can you find a solution to your transportation woes that will leave both of you happy (and not stranded at your wedding destination)?

white escalade wedding limo

Ambassador Limousine, a premier Tampa limo and luxury car rental service that serves the greater central Florida area, offers advice for several transportation options you should consider before the big day. If you’re looking for a low-cost or eco-friendly option for your wedding day, consider riding off on two bicycles or even a bicycle built for two. Is your fiancée cringing at the idea of riding a bike while wearing her wedding dress? No problem: Another low-cost alternative would be to rent a Vespa or motor scooter, which typically costs between $35 and $60 for two hours.

Not interested in do-it-yourself modes of transportation while wearing a tuxedo? Fair enough. There’s always the classic stretch Tampa wedding limo or vintage car like the Rolls Royce if you want to create that classy, romantic feeling your bride desires without sitting downwind of a horse. And if you’re feeling exceptionally romantic, yes, you can opt for the aforementioned horse-drawn carriage.

While selecting a ride for you and your bride is important, don’t forget about the other people in attendance you’ll need to provide transportation for — your wedding party. Because it’s unlikely your wedding party will be keen on the idea of cycling or scooting around town for your nuptials, make sure you arrange for them to get from the wedding venue to the reception in a fun and safe way. If you decide to rent your pals a stretch limo, throw in a few disposable cameras and ask your buddies to take photos in the limos on the big day. (You might want to ask them to keep it PG-rated, but that’s your call.) If you aren’t keen on having the bridesmaids and groomsmen leave the ceremony in their respective limos, consider renting them a party bus so they can grab a brew or sip on champagne while they’re en route to the reception. If you live in a large city like San Francisco or Savannah and want a more unconventional mode of transportation, see if you can arrange for them to snag a ride on a trolley or a cable car.

Once you select a preferred method of transportation, your planning isn’t over quite yet. With the Internet brimming with photos, it’s easier for companies to take photos from Google Images than it is to take original photos of their transportation fleet, which can leave a big discrepancy between what you see online and what arrives on your wedding day. Before making any commitments, check out your vehicle in person to ensure you’re getting what you’re paying for.

Ambassador Limousine is refining and redefining luxury Tampa limos and car service industry in the Tampa Bay and central Florida area. Whether you have your eye on a vintage or modern Tampa Rolls Royce rentals or a class black or white wedding limo, our expert wedding specialists plan every detail of your transportation so you can focus on the wedding. Will You Be an Artfully Disheveled Groom?

Sunday, July 10th, 2011

You know the guy. He’s nonchalant. He’s hip. And even though he puts zero time into his appearance, his look always appears calm, cool and calculated. Pulling off this disheveled style isn’t easy, but it does help to have the goods. And by goods, I’m referring to one of my favorite new brands: the aptly named Artfully Disheveled.

Artfully Disheveled

In the brand’s own words, being Artfully Disheveled in your style is to dress as if one puts little thought into his choices. The Artfully Disheveled man appears to be sloppy in his attire choices, when in reality; premeditated measures were taken to create a particular look. In other words, it means looking slick even though everyone around you is convinced that you just rolled out of bed.

I recently had the opportunity to sample a few of the line’s top sellers: The Academy and The Sharps. I was struck by two things. First, how much more my wife paid attention to me while I was wearing them. But also (and more importantly), how many grooms are going to snatch these up for rehearsal dinner attire. See, the problem with rehearsal dinners is that they’re a tricky mix between casual and formal events. Black ties are too much, but a golf polo isn’t enough. Lucky for you, A.D.’s tie collection boasts some real treasures. If you’re currently on the tie hunt for yourself or your groomsmen, I strongly encourage you to check out the line.

And not that I needed any further convincing to give A.D. the seal of approval, I learned about another feather in their cap. They’ve recently teamed up with Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Dhani Jones in support of his Bowtie Cause which supports people going through life-threatening diseases.

And now for the goods:

Finally, if you need a refresher course on how to properly tie a tie (let’s be honest, who doesn’t?) there’s always this gem:

What are the Best Groomsmen Gifts?

Saturday, July 9th, 2011

Being an all-star groom means doing it up the right way when it comes time to thanking your best man, groomsmen and ushers. Sure, you could get them them the standard watch or cuff link set… but what’s exciting about that? The best groomsman gift ideas involve doing a little research on each member of the wedding party and discovering the gifts that are perfectly suited for each guy. Remember, there’s no golden rule that says you’ve gotta get the same thing for everyone.

Here are some tips for nailing the gift selection process:

  • - Think about the hobbies and interests of each guy. If he’s an outdoorsman, get him something that he can use on his next fishing or hunting expedition. If he’s a golfer, there’s no shortage of golfing gear and tools that he can add to his repertoire.
  • - Go personalized. Gifts are always meaningful. However, having initials or a name engraved onto a gift can offer that extra touch you’re looking for.
  • - When presenting gifts at the rehearsal dinner or wedding reception, remember to say a few personal words about each groomsman as he receives his gift. He’ll appreciate whatever you get him, but your words might be what says with him the longest.

Here are a few out of the box gift ideas that will help get your creative juices flowing:
