OneWed’s Local Flavor: Your Guest List vs. Your Career

Guest Blogger Profile: Jennifer Napier of OneWed.com

These days, many of us spend as much time at work as we do at home, so it’s natural that we’d want to invite some of our office friends to our wedding.

Consider the following notes before inviting these buddies from work to your wedding.

Even if you don’t work for Michael Scott, you should still proceed carefully. The politics of every office are different, but you can follow some basic rules your mom probably made you follow when planning birthday parties as a kid.

1. Don’t talk about the party in front of people who aren’t invited.
2. If you’re inviting half the class (or office), you need to invite everyone.
3. If you’re not inviting everyone, don’t hand out invitations, mail them.
4. Don’t lie, you’ll get caught. The exception to this is to drop very big hints that the wedding is small, and mainly family.
5. Invite your boss (ok, that one you didn’t learn in school, but it’s a good idea).
